OUTBACK TRUCKERS LIVE! WORLD PREMIERE ANNOUNCED FOR WESTERN AUSTRALIA
THE SCALE OF THE OUTBACK. THE MEN BEHIND THE MACHINES. LIVE ON STAGE.
The Entertainment Lab and Prospero Productions are proud to announce the World Premiere of OUTBACK TRUCKERS LIVE!, bringing three of the hit television series’ most recognisable characters — Steve Grahame, Yogi and Sludge — together live on stage for the very first time.
The brand-new live show will premiere at Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre on Saturday 3 April 2027, followed by Mandurah Performing Arts Centre on Sunday 4 April 2027.
Real blokes. Real stories.
After years tackling some of Australia’s toughest roads, biggest loads and most unforgiving conditions, Steve, Yogi and Sludge are parking up the trucks and hitting the stage for a new live experience created especially for theatres.
OUTBACK TRUCKERS LIVE! brings the scale and atmosphere of the Australian outback into the theatre, combining the larger-than-life personalities of the truckers with spectacular big-screen imagery, specially created visual sequences, theatrical lighting and a powerful soundscape that puts audiences right back on the road.
From the roar of the engines and the vastness of the landscape to the isolation, danger, humour and sheer unpredictability of life behind the wheel, the world audiences know from Outback Truckers takes on a whole new dimension live on stage.
But at the heart of the show are Steve, Yogi and Sludge themselves.
Audiences will get to know each of them — the experiences that shaped them, what drew them to life on the road, the challenges and sacrifices, the people who matter to them and what trucking has meant to their lives. There will be plenty of opportunities to get involved throughout the show, share a laugh with the boys and put questions directly to Yogi, Steve and Sludge.
It’s a chance to meet the men behind the machines.
And when Steve, Yogi and Sludge come together on stage, their very different personalities, experiences and outlooks create plenty of stories, laughs and unpredictable moments.
The show will move between storytelling, specially created screen content, sound and visual sequences, live interaction and plenty of surprises along the way.
The Entertainment Lab CEO Dustin Lockett said the aim was to create a genuine live entertainment experience rather than simply put the television personalities on stage.
“From the beginning, we knew this couldn’t just be three blokes sitting in chairs telling stories. Outback Truckers is about scale — huge machines, enormous distances, spectacular landscapes and some incredible personalities — so the challenge was how we bring some of that world into a theatre. We’re using big screen imagery, sound, lighting to give the show real theatrical scale, but the heart of it will always be Steve, Yogi and Sludge.
Audiences will get to know each of them individually, understand more about the lives they’ve led and what drives them, and then we bring the three of them together and let those personalities collide.
“Add the audience into that mix and I think you have something that feels completely different to simply watching another episode on television.”
Prospero Productions Managing Director Julia Redwood said Steve, Sludge and Yogi are hard-working blokes that prefer to be behind the wheel of a truck but they genuinely love meeting and talking to fans of the show so they can’t wait to get up on stage and tell their stories. This is going to be a lot of fun!
OUTBACK TRUCKERS LIVE! is the world of the hit television series as audiences have never experienced it before.
Bigger. Louder. Live.
